Welcome to Jesse Gimbel Design. Freelance graphic design (with me, anyway) is better than working with large corporations. Here's why: - i don't use
website templates (i make all my work from scratch) |

| Standard rate: $200 | Note: This price is for the design only. This does not include the cost of hosting and the domain name. A friend of mine runs a hosting company that has very good rates, but if you'd prefer to find your own hosting and domain, that works just as well. If you have questions about this, please email me at jesse_l_gimbel@yahoo.com. | |
| This price is just my base price. It can go up or down depending on the complexity of the design. i work with a lot of local bands on a budget so my pricing is very flexible. i can't simply throw out websites for free, but i can usually work with my clients to make a good deal. |

rate: $50/hour (i'm not stingy about photos, and i'm not going to charge an extra $50 for an extra 5 minutes) |
Info:
i do 2 main types of photo sessions: 'Staged' Show: This is when we set up instruments and we take pictures as if a live show is being played. These come out a lot better than live shots because there is much more control over lighting and movement. This can be on an actual stage, in a hallway, anywhere, it doesn't have to be, and usually isn't, in a real venue. 'Walk Around' Shoot: No instruments (unless it's just something small and portable), we pick a general area somewhere and walk around and take pictures around there. The woods, a grungy city, train tracks, a warehouse, whatever, we just pick a place and mess around. These usually have pretty interesting results. We can set up things more planned too; things with specific lighting and certain objects or whatever in the photos if it's what you want. These are just two general ideas to help specify what you're looking for. If you have questions about this, please email me at jesse_l_gimbel@yahoo.com. |

to Home >>About: As you know, my name is jesse gimbel. i have been interested in art all of my life. In my high school years i was moved from the beginner's class directly to the honors art class, which ended up being a unique experience considering i hadn't taken the prerequisites. i've always enjoyed trying different mediums, such as drawing, acrylics, watercolors,, linoleum printing, clay, wood carving, and especially the two main mediums featured on this website, graphic arts and photography. |

My Graphic Design Experience i began graphic design work as early as junior high school. i experimented and learned more over the years, eventually earning various awards and respect among art educators. In 2005 i won first place for computer art in the Kurt Weldon Congressional Art Contest. Since starting with graphic design, i've taken advantage of the versitily of using computers, while still trying to be as genuine as possible. I use my own photography and images instead of borrowing others' or using stock images. i've been recognized for my attention to details, beyond the point of what's immediately noticable. Graphic design is something i love to do, so working with others in a field that i really enjoy is always a great experience, or at least one i can learn from. My Photography Experience As many people have, i took many pictures years ago of anything i thought looked interesting. i started off with a regular automatic camera, nothing special, and began to toy with different cameras. i gave using a cheap digital camera a try, still taking horribly composed snapshots of cliche teenager things. Later on i started experimenting with a vintage 35 mm SLR, which i've been using as my main film camera ever since. i've had experience in the darkroom, experimenting with different techniques, learning how to create effects with film that i previously only knew from the computer. This experience really gave me a boost into serious photography, utilizing principles of design and swearing never to take another snapshot (i'm now notorious for taking a generous amount of time setting up shots). i became known in my classes for my "creative use of light and shadow". Since then i've used my photography in various posters and graphic design, as well as taking press shots for the press kits of local bands. |
